Chamber Singers Earn Top Ratings at State

Kudos to our Milford High School Chamber Singers on an outstanding year!

In March, the Milford High School Chamber Singers received Superior ratings (the highest possible) from all four judges
for their performance in the highest difficulty class (AA) at the District 14 OMEA Adjudicated Event. This top rating qualified them to move ahead to the state level of competition, which was held at Tippacanoe High School on April 30.

When competing at the state level, they were required to prepare another AA-level piece of music and sight read an even more difficult piece. Once again, Milford received Superior ratings from all four judges. This group also received a Superior rating in January, when they performed in the top class at the Solo and Ensemble Contest.

"Not only are these students amazing musicians, they are also admirable citizens and students. Several of them take AP classes, and volunteer in various capacities. They are always willing to perform for events around the area, giving freely of their time," said Choir Director, Tracy Carpenter.
