Counseling Department Events

Our high school counseling department now has one counselor devoted to each grade level (9-12) and a new counselor focused on Career and College Readiness.  Mrs. Liz Emmons, who moved from the 9th grade to community to this new position has planned a variety of activities this fall with the counseling department.

Senior Parent Meeting: The Senior Support Team met with parents on August 31 to begin describing the college application process and some of the upcoming senior events. Check out the presentation and the step-by-step application video.

College Night at Milford High School-Wednesday, September 9 at 6 p.m.

High School College Night is a public event for students and parents in grades 9-12. Each class is given a presentation by a college representative about the ins and outs of the college planning process.

ACT Prep for 11th Graders-September 24 Homeroom

Tips and tricks for the 11th grade ACT test.  Application process for internship opportunities.

College Application Blitz-Friday, September 25 –9 a.m.- 2 p.m.

Mrs. Dolezal, Mrs. Duffy, and Mrs. Emmons will be available to help students complete college applications and track down necessary paperwork. Stop by at any time during the event for help. Please RSVP so we have an idea of how many students plan to attend. RSVP at Walk-ins are welcome!

ACT-September 29 at 8 a.m.  

All 11th grade students will take the ACT.

6th Grade--Early Planning for High School & College-October 7 at 6:30 p.m.-Milford High School 

Early Planning for HS & College is a presentation provided to all 6th grade parents. A representative from a local college will visit to put forth college information that is relevant for 6th grade students. This presentation will encompass topics such as financial aid and planning, steps to take before high school, and exploring a student’s varied interests.

College Night at Milford’s Home Football Game-October 9 at 6:15 p.m.

Football College Night is a public event featuring a number of colleges who are invited to attend a Milford football game. College representatives are available to parents and students to introduce their schools, answer questions, and pass out college spirit wear.
