Milford's Director of Special Education, Jennie Berkley, recently won the Faces of Autism Award for Professional Excellence from the Autism Society. Berkley has been with the Milford School District for the past 15 years. Prior to this school year, she was also the Director of Milford’s Preschool.

Jennie was nominated by Milford parent Jenny Cunningham. In her letter of nomination Cunningham shared, “When my son Quinn was just 21 months old he was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Quinn started at Milford Preschool the day he turned three. From the moment we walked through the door, we were shown unconditional love and support from the entire staff of Milford Preschool. Jennie and her team guided us at every twist and turn along the way. Jennie is a constant source of knowledge for parents and educators in the Milford School District. Jennie is a wonderful leader, a kind and loving person, and a shining example of an autism advocate. I can't think of a more deserving person to receive this award.”

“It is an honor to receive this award on behalf of the many advocates for not only Autism, but the many disabilities that we serve in our schools,” Berkley said.
