Milford Superintendent Dr. Robert Farrell was named Educator of the Year by the Clermont Chamber of Commerce and honored with other area leaders at the 22nd annual Salute to Leaders awards banquet on Tuesday, March 10.

Dr. Farrell came to the Milford Exempted Village School District as Superintendent in 2007. During his tenure, he has led the district to high academic achievement, as well as, fiscal accountability and stability.  Dr. Farrell leads with a collaborative management style that involves all members of the school community to achieve success for all students.

According to Board President, Andrea Brady, “Dr. Farrell has turned around community involvement and trust in our school district.”

During his eight years in Milford, he has many accomplishments, which include:

  • Coordinated a successful effort to pass two operating levies and a 30 million dollar bond issue to renovate and add on to our current junior high and high school.
  • Improved the academic outcomes for Milford Schools each year. The current student achievement scores are some of the best scores in the state and have been accomplished on a lean budget with a real focus on instruction.
  • Led a Community Engagement Process to identify priorities and establish trust in the district that had fallen into “Fiscal Caution” and declining academic outcomes.
  • Organized a subsequent Committee Process involving over 200 citizens and employees to make recommendations to the Milford Board of Education. This process has evolved into a Continuous Planning Model.
