Milford will continue its tradition of honoring veterans at its November Board meeting. The district is also asking veterans who did who did not earn a diploma because their education at Milford was interrupted to serve their country to contact the Board Office.

On October 19, the Milford Miami Township Chamber of Commerce honored Dr. Robert Farrell at its 2016 Business and Community Awards Gala. This event celebrates the businesses and individuals in our community who stand out for the work that they do on a daily basis and look to the good of the community before that of even themselves.

Milford High School students and Milford Miami Ministry are collaborating to host Empty Bowls on October 23, from noon-3 p.m. at R.S.V.P. on Wards Corner. 

Milford School District has launched a new student/parent hotline to handle reporting of bullying and other safety concerns.

Milford Exempted Village School District is working on the completion of the final phase of its Master Facilities plan and is asking for community input. An online survey has been posted on the district website at www.milfordschools.org/rebuild/rebuild and will remain open through the end of the day on Friday, October 14.

Milford High School students will again be hosting a Constitution Day celebration at Miami Meadows Park this Saturday, September 24. The program will take place in the Spirit of 76 section of the park from 10:00 am to 12 noon. The event is open to the public

Milford's former Superintendent Dr. Robert Farrell's legacy will live on in Milford. At its meeting on December 15, the Board passed a resolution to name the future district administrative office building the"Dr. Robert B. Farrell Milford Exempted Village School's Administrative Office Building."

Milford graduate Aaron Strait has used his talents to give back to his high school. Aaron, who graduated from Milford High School in 2011, visited the high school on December 7, and donated $850 to the autism unit. Aaron presented the check to his former teacher Trena Panko. 

This school year, Milford High School is offering an exciting new opportunity for students called Tech Squad. The Eagle Tech Squad course is a semester-long, hands-on study of technology integration in an educational context. 

A total of 761 individuals responded to the Milford Exempted Village School District online survey about its Master Facilities plan. The online survey, which was posted for three weeks, ended on October 14. The current facilities plan currently includes

Milford High School DECA marketing students, in conjunction with Miami Township Parks & Recreation, have planned the Remembrance at the Meadows program for Saturday, October 8, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

Milford School District has joined other area districts that are members of the Greater Cincinnati School Advocacy Network (GCSAN) in voicing concern that state edicts continue to provide for extensive overreach in testing. More than 40 area school districts in GSCAN are sending a strong message to state legislators regarding implementation of the recent Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). The Ohio Department of Education will be hosting several ESSA stakeholder meetings – with one in Cincinnati scheduled for 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29.
