Milford Staff Honors Dr. Farrell at Convocation

Posted on: August 23, 2016
At the Milford School District Convocation held today, the staff surprised Dr. Farrell with a special recognition for his nine years of service as Superintendent. He ended his tenure as Superintendent on July 31, but will continue in a consulting role with the district until December.
"We wanted to show Dr. Farrell our gratitude for his leadership and for how he has inspired and helped us to soar as a district," said current Superintedent, Nancy House.
Staff from each building stood and held a word that reflected Dr. Farrell's character traits and included words like leadership, compassion, humor and dedication. Kristen Bruce, 3rd grade student at Meadowview, read the poem Starfish and a Starfish statue was presented to Dr. Farrell.
The program concluded with the Milford High School band and cheerleaders leading everyone in the high school fight song.
"I have been so fortunate to work with so many talented and dedicated professionals who serve the students and community of Milford," Dr. Farrell said. "I was overwhelmed by the recognition and very appreciative - I will never forget their kindness. I have been blessed to spend the last nine years working in a community that cares so much about their young people."
